The study of theology is the cornerstone of all
intellectual endeavors because the truths that theology
considers are the highest - and at the same time the
deepest - truths about God and man.

No matter what your future service to the
Church or to the world, studies in theology provide
the key dimension for fruitful and authentic
evangelization.

WHAT ARE THESE SUMMER ACADEMIC RETREATS?
The Summer Academic Retreats are an opportunity to experience a 5 day retreat and to take classes (up to three courses per session), while staying on the beautiful campus of St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Experience the Seminary's rich spiritual life throughout one's stay - including Mass, Liturgy of the Hours, talks, prayer and praise, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Confession, and silent prayer. In addition, one can make use of the tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, exercise rooms, and other recreational facilities. The room accommodations are air-conditioned, single occupancy, with private bath. Your retreat is perfectly complemented by stress free academic study - these courses have no tests or quizzes - just come and learn!

Why spend money on costly vacations that often have little spiritual reward? MAKE THIS SUMMER DIFFERENT! Make it sacred!
Learn about God through study, prayer, and recreation!

Programs start July 5th and run through July 30th! Saint Charles Seminary is only 30 minutes from Philadelphia International Airport!

A student staying on campus for a one week session would arrive Sunday evening and depart by noon on Friday. On the Sunday evening of your arrival, there is dinner plus a scheduled spiritual event such as prayer and praise and/or a speaker. Then, there are three class sessions offered during the day - morning, afternoon, and evening - Monday through Thursday - a total of three possible courses in one week. In addition to the Sunday evening spiritual event, other opportunities for communal prayer will be offered through the week, such as daily Mass, Adoration, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. One can also take the time to walk the beautiful campus, exercise, play tennis or basketball, watch movies in the lounge, or simply relax with new friends. The student departs campus on Friday by 1pm.

If a student will be staying for more than one week, he/she may remain on campus on the weekends which would include meals. This would be a time of continuing personal prayer and retreat, or for sightseeing in the Philadelphia area.
