The study of theology is the cornerstone of all
intellectual endeavors because the truths that theology
considers are the highest - and at the same time the
deepest - truths about God and man.

No matter what your future service to the
Church or to the world, studies in theology provide
the key dimension for fruitful and authentic
evangelization.

From the President:

+ Greetings Fellow Alumni,

Welcome to our homepage!

My name is Maryanne Thompson, Class of 2007 and I am honored and excited to serve as the first president of the Religious Studies Division Alumni Association [RSDAA]. I, along with fellow graduates Anne Wilson, Anna Vegas and Anne Chavez took our place as the inaugural officers of the Executive Board of the Alumni Association for the Religious Studies Division of St. Charles Seminary 24 months ago.  In this time we have been working hard, albeit behind the scenes to bring form and focus to our Association.  Thanks to Anne Chavez, our Alumni of the past two years have experienced our presence during that all important Comps week, providing prayer and fellowship during written exams.

I am pleased to share two wonderful new initiatives sponsored by the Alumni Association that we are launching this year; RSD Parish Representatives and the Speaker’s Bureau, a project near and dear to my heart.  Check out the website for details on how to get involved.

Thanks to Jared Haselbarth, Assistant Academic Dean and fellow alum for helping us get this presence on the web. Our web presence is exciting, it is a way for you to communicate with us, keep us up-to-date on your information and let us know your thoughts for our Association.  It is also the way we can keep you up-to-date on Alumni activities and events at St. Charles that may be of interest.

I hope you will consider joining us at one of the events.  I know that I am looking forward to reconnecting with some old friends this year; I hope you do as well.

And finally, to our newest Alumni – the class of 2009 Congratulations! To all our Alum both old and new, consider becoming involved with the Association in some way, share the gift of knowledge and faith you received here at St. Charles – for the praise and glory of Jesus Christ, now and forever!

            In His Name,

Get Involved

"O my gosh! How are you? Has it been that long since I've seen you?"

Parish Representatives
Be a liason between your parish and the Religious Studies Division! This is a great way to help promote our programs and be involved! Duties would include ensuring RSD bulletin announcements get into your parish bulletin, hanging flyers and other info on bulletin boards and kiosks at your parish, and being available after Masses to speak with interested students and conduct on-site registration for classes. A parish representative would be in frequent contact with the Religious Studies Division staff to help promote the programs that we all have benefited from so much! Get your parish in the loop! Join today!
